Where to eat nearby? Best restaurants near the Louvre

Walking through the Louvre's endless corridors works up an appetite. But finding a good restaurant in one of Paris's most touristic areas can be a challenge. Avoid the overpriced "tourist traps" and eat like a local with our top recommendations within a 5-minute walk.

1. The Authentic Experience

🍽 Bistrot Victoires

Vibe: Traditional, bustling, and very Parisian.

Just a short walk from the museum, this bistro feels like stepping back in time. It is famous for its vintage decor and affordable prices. Their confit de canard (duck confit) and roast chicken are legendary. It gets loud and busy, but that is part of the charm.

📍 6 Rue de la Vrillière (6 min walk)

2. The Best View

☕ Le Café Marly

Vibe: Chic, upscale, and iconic.

Located right under the arcades of the Richelieu wing, the terrace overlooks the glass Pyramid. It is pricey, yes, but you are paying for the view and the atmosphere. Perfect for a coffee, a glass of wine, or a light lunch while watching the crowds go by.

📍 93 Rue de Rivoli (Inside Louvre courtyard)

3. Quick & Delicious

🥖 BO&MIE - Louvre

Vibe: Modern artisan bakery.

If you don't want a sit-down meal, head to BO&MIE. This creative bakery offers some of the best sandwiches, quiches, and pastries in Paris. Grab a baguette sandwich and a raspberry croissant, and head to the nearby Tuileries Garden for a picnic.

📍 18 Rue de Rivoli (2 min walk)

4. The Sweet Treat

🍫 Angelina Paris

Vibe: Historic tea room.

Famous for serving the best African hot chocolate in Paris. The Belle Époque interior is stunning. Be prepared to queue, but their signature Mont-Blanc pastry is worth the wait.

📍 226 Rue de Rivoli (8 min walk)

Final Tip

Avoid the restaurants directly facing the museum on Rue de Rivoli that have large pictures of food on their menus. These are generally overpriced and low quality. Walking just two streets away from the main road usually guarantees a much better meal!
